Driving Directions to our Sonoma gallery
during events at Sonoma Raceway
Two or three times each summer, highway traffic to the Sonoma Valley is affected by major auto races at the Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway), at the intersection of California Hwy 37 and Hwy 121 (South).
To avoid the road congestion, several alternate routes are recommended:
From Santa Rosa -- take Highway 12, Bennett Valley Road, or any other route that leads into the Sonoma Valley from the north or west. These roads are unaffected by raceway congestion.
From Napa and places to the east -- avoid Vallejo completely, and take Highways 12 or 29 to reach California Hwy 121 (West) at Napa. From there it's a scenic little drive into Sonoma.
From Marin and San Francisco --
take Highway 101 to Petaluma, and use the Hwy 116 East exit to head for the Sonoma Valley.
Note that Hwy 116 and Lakeville Highway are the same road for the first four miles, until Hwy 116 turns sharply east while Lakeville separates off and goes south.
From this point, Hwy 116 and Stage Gulch Road run together most of the way to Sonoma.
As you drop out of the hills approaching Sonoma, there is a 3-way stoplighted intersection with Arnold Drive.
(It comes up on you quick, so please keep an eye out for it).
Turn left onto Arnold, and once you're northbound, you can drive east into downtown Sonoma from Watmaugh Road, Leveroni Road, or Petaluma Avenue.
